Halloween Double Feature

The Pumphouse Players presents a Halloween double feature of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Dark Matters at the Legion Theater on October 29 – 31, 2010.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has been adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the novella Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is being directed by Mike Harris. Dark Matters is a frightening story written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and is being directed by Barry King. Both plays are perfect to get you in the Halloween spirit.
WARNING: Contains violence and adult language so parental discretion is advised.

LEO-FIA Halloween Motorcycle Ride

The Law Enforcement Officers-Firearms Instructor Association is holding their 1st annual Halloween Costume Motorcycle Ride on October 30, 2010. Come dressed up in your best halloween costume and have a great time riding through North Georgia. Registration begins at 9 AM at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office with the ride to begin at 10 AM. The cost is $25 per bike and $10 per passenger. For more details and information, contact 770-780-0822.
There will be door prizes as well as prizes awarded for Best Individual Costume and the Best Couples Costume.

Southeastern Cowboy Festival and Symposium

If the cowboy way is something that strikes your fancy, you’ll want to visit the Booth Western Art Museum for the 8th annual Southeastern Cowboy Festival and Symposium going on October 21 – 24, 2010. You can stroll through the Western Cowboy Marketplace to see everything from holsters and saddles to chaps and western wear. Visit the Native American Indian Village to see many different arts of the Native Americans such as jewelry, blankets, bows and arrows, and more. There will be many booths set up for you to see demonstrations of the way things were done back in days gone by, a trail camp, a saloon, blacksmithing, beading, and spinning just to name a few. Experience the Gunfight at the OK Corral and a Civil War encampment as they will be re-enacted for your entertainment. Native Drum Dancers will be performing as well. The kids are sure to have a great time at the Kids’ Corner where many great activities will be available for them.
A Western Concert featuring Belinda Gail and Jim Jones will be happening Friday night at 7 PM. Riders in the Sky will be performing two concerts on Saturday, a matinee at 2 PM and one at 7 PM. Tickets for these shows are an additional fee and are not included in the admission to the festival.
Admission for the festival is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and over, $7 for students, $3 for children 12 and under. Booth Museum members and active Military with ID are FREE. Group rates are available. For more details and information, contact 770-387-1300.
