The Grascals

Music at The City Cellar and Loft

The City Cellar and Loft in Cartersville, Georgia is a happening place! Every Wednesday night offers “The Loft Unplugged”, live acoustic music in The City Loft starting at 7 PM. Stop by and enjoy some unplugged music. There is no cover charge.  Menu items from The City Cellar will be available so come on out to help support local music and bring your appetite! Must be 18 years or older.

Thursday nights offer Live Jazz Music at The City Cellar from 7 PM to 10 PM.

Friday and Saturday nights are great nights to dance at The Loft! Doors open at 8:30 PM and a live band starts playing around 9 PM on Friday night. Saturday nights offer either a DJ or live music. Put on your dancin’ shoes and come out to party. There is a $5 cover charge and you must be 21 or older. You get a  free “train shot” with your paid cover charge.

The Art of the Space Shuttle Program

Space ShuttleTake part in the Tellus Science Museum’s lecture series with Mort Kunstler’s presentation on “The Art of the Space Shuttle Program” on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 7 PM. The galleries will remain open until 9 PM.

Mort Kunstler was commissioned by Rockwell International back in the 1980s to do a series of paintings to document the Space Shuttle Program. His series of six major paintings along with sketches and portraits are on loan to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia and he will be speaking about his experiences during the time of this commission. He will share his stories of being on hand for the first launch and also the first touchtown of the Space Shuttle.

Museum Admission: $12 adults, $10 senior citizens ages 65+, $8 children ages 3-17 and students with ID, Free to Tellus Museum Members and Active Military with ID. Add a Planetarium Show package to any admission for just $3 per person (only $2 for Tellus members and Military receives one free show). This lecture is included in the normal admission price. The Civil War Begins

Civil War SoldierCivil War re-enactors will be presenting a look at the early days of the Civil War and what was expected from both sides leading up to the first major battle in the Booth Ballroom at The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia on April 6, 2011 beginning at 12:15 PM. Period and reproduction weapons and uniforms will be on display before and after the presentation. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Admission prices to the museum are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and older, $7 for students, children under 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian are free.
