2011 4th of July Celebration

Bartow County, Georgia is celebrating 2011 Independence Day in a big way. A parade down Main Street in downtown Cartersville at 9 AM will start the festivities off for July 4, 2011. A full day of activities are planned beginning at 10 AM at Dellinger Park with a petting zoo, camel rides, children’s activities, music, crafts and food. A free music concert will be given starting at 8 PM with a fireworks display following the concert.
This wonderful day of celebration is being brought to you by the Cartersville Optimist Club in cooperation with WBHF. For parade registration, contact WBHF at 770-386-4618. For vending space, contact Dellinger Park at 770-387-1485.

Nature at Night Hike

Join a ranger led hike from 8 PM to 9 PM at Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville, Georgia on Friday nights through June 24, 2011 to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at night. There are creatures that only come out at night so this is a perfect opportunity to see and hear them.
The hike is 1 mile on an easy trail making it great for the whole family to participate. For those interested, meet at the far side of the Visitor’s Center. There is a $5 parking fee. For more information, call 770-975-4226.
