			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.downtowncartersville.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/dinosaur-sm.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-269" title="Dinosaur" src="http://www.downtowncartersville.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/dinosaur-sm.jpg" alt="Dinosaur" width="150" height="102" /></a>Jose Santamaria, the director of the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, will present a  summary of life from different time periods in Georgia&#8217;s past on <strong>February 3, 2012</strong> at 7 PM. He has spent the last 20 years collecting and studying fossils in Georgia and he will be discussing them as part of the lecture series at the Tellus Science Museum. Even though Georgia is more well known for its history in minerals, geology, and mining, it has a very fascinating history in Paleontology as well.</p>
<p>Admission to this lecture is included in the regular admission to the museum which is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65+, $8 for children 3 &#8211; 17 and students with ID. Members of the museum and active military with ID are admitted free. For more information, call 770-606-5700.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Learn about the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II at an evening lecture at the Bartow History Museum on January 26, 2012.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Evening lectures take place the last Thursday of each month at 7 PM at the Bartow History Museum in Cartersville, Georgia. KSU professor Dr. Jennifer Dickey will be this month&#8217;s featured guest and she will be presenting an overview of the Tuskegee Airmen from World War II on <strong>January 26, 2012</strong>. An exhibit on the Tuskegee Airmen curated by Kennesaw State University will be on display at the Bartow History Museum from January 23, 2012 through March 17, 2012.</p>
<p>Museum Admission is $5.50 for adults, $4.50 for senior citizens &amp; students, children under 5 and active-duty military with ID admitted free.<br />
The Museum Hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed Sundays and Major Holidays. Call 770-382-3818 for more information.</p>

The topic of discussion is African American history in Bartow County.</p>

This event is suitable for all ages.</p>
<p>Dates for the hayride are <strong>October 14, 15, 21,22, 28, and 29, 2011.</strong> There will be hayrides running at<strong> 7 PM, 7:40 PM, 8:20 PM, and 9 PM.</strong> Admission is $8, 2 and younger are free. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Volunteer some of your time on <strong>September 10, 2011</strong> to help prepare Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville, Georgia for upcoming events such as Harvest Time at the Homestead, Halloween hayrides, and more. They need help getting the cabin prepared to host Harvest Time at the Homestead on <strong>September 24 and 25, 2011 </strong>from 10 AM to 4 PM.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-248" title="Life in the 1800s" src="http://www.downtowncartersville.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/1800s-sm.jpg" alt="Life in the 1800s" width="150" height="112" />Harvest Time at the Homestead gives you an opportunity to step into the past to experience some ways of life for people back in the 1800s. There will be demonstrators showing how different crafts like woodworking and soapmaking were done and how tasks like laundry were accomplished. A Civil War camp will be created so stop by to talk to the soldiers.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The hilarious comedy, &#8220;Plaza Suite&#8221; by Neil Simon is being brought to the stage by the Pumphouse Players at the Legion Theater in Cartersville, Georgia on <strong>August 26, 27, 28</strong> and <strong>September 2, 3, 2011</strong>.</p>
<p>The story is a comedic look at 3 different scenarios all taking place in the same suite at different times with different people. The play is being directed by Al Calsetta, Mallory Grantham, and Laurel Lowe.</p>
